A residential and dementia care provider with care homes across the region is offering first aid training to other Yorkshire-based care providers and businesses.
HICA group, headquartered in Hull, offers care services across Yorkshire including Bridlington, Cottingham, Doncaster, Hull and Withernsea. The not-for-profit organisation is calling for interested companies to get in touch to benefit from its accredited first aid training courses, provided onsite or within HICA’s training facility in the centre of Hull.
The one-day course, taught by HICA’s qualified and skilled instructors, is focused on emergency first aid at work that providers learners with the essential knowledge and techniques needed to provide emergency first aid treatment.
Steve Reed, learning & development manager at HICA Group, said: “As a key pillar of care in the community, we’re pleased to offer other local organisations and businesses the opportunity to learn some vital, lifesaving skills.
“Given the nature of the work we do, our employees may have to deal with a number of health emergency related incidents and the first aid training each of them have received has been absolutely imperative to the safety of residents.
“We want to give these tools to other organisations so that they’re also equipped to help save lives by ensuring employees know what to do in several different emergency situations. Please do get in touch if you feel your employees would benefit from the course.”
The training covers a wide range of subjects including resuscitation, the use of an external automated defibrillator, choking, seizures, blood loss, shock burns, electrical incidents and more.
The one day Emergency First Aid at Work Course delivers the required training and assessment needed for the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification. HICA also provides the 3-day First Aid at Work course.
