Not-for-profit quality care for over 25 years

Supporting Kelvin on his bike

Oaklea values are pretty straightforward -“Individuality, independence, interdependence, rights, respect, dignity, privacy, partnership, choice

Wheeling in the freewheeling years…

Well our Kelvin has taken these to heart. Thanks to his great support team he’s had a ‘wheely good time’!

Oaklea’s very own honorary biker chick (!), Vanessa ‘Queen V’ Washington took to two virtual wheels and supported Kelvin to the “revival scramble” at Westmorland County Showground.

It’s a vintage bike event where everything and everyone gets scrambled!

Speak up V….we can’t hear you over the petrol heads!

Vanessa says: “It was good noisy fun….It was also great to see Kelvin out and about having a good time socially. He’s usually busy in the week at Right2Work Community Works -so this was one of the best moments since Covid to have time out and not be overwhelmed.”
Motoring along…..for a long time!
Kelvin & Queen V were guests of Westmorland Motor Club. They go back to 1910 (the club that is…) and pride themselves on being a “Complete Motor Bike Club for adults and youths. Whether you are a beginner or experienced rider, we have a place for you and we’re here to help you succeed. For over 100 years, we’ve offered quality trials for Adult, youth boys and girls. Our objective is to introduce Youth to the sport of Bikes and provide meetings to encourage the development of talented young riders. (find out more here http://www.westmorlandmotorclub.com/)

Now we’ve had time to clean up – time for round of applause to…

A special thanks to Mike Tucker of Westmorland Motor Club for sorting this….and of course the support team -without whom!
