Maryville Care Home has been chosen by residents and their families as one of the Top 20 care homes in London once again. They are in that list consecutively for two years.
There are 1,270 care homes in London with the top 20 receiving an award from the UK’s leading reviews guide to care homes, carehome.co.uk.
The award is based on reviews of the care home written by their residents, as well as their friends and relatives.
There are over 17,000 care homes in the UK caring for around half a million people. Over 11,000 of these care homes support older people aged 65 and over, while the rest care for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues.
To celebrate this huge accomplishment, Miss Kathleen Liang the home manager, organised a grand celebration along with her wonderful staff.
Councillor Raghwinder Siddhu from Bedford and Councillor Emma Siddhu from Heston West graced the occasion with their presence.
Miss Liang thanked all her staff individually and acknowledged their hard work, dedication, and passion without which it would have been impossible to achieve this award. She mentioned about how every staff from nurses to chef to housekeeping to maintenance to new joiners have all collectively worked together to make this recognition possible.
There was food for everyone and a live performance from the infamous Johnny Parrish who performed 60’s 70’s Elvis Presley classics.
Bernardine Doran, resident of Maryville Care Home, said:
“I didn’t plan to go in a care home, but life took over and I moved to Maryville. I really couldn’t be happier. There is an overwhelming warmth and generosity amongst the staff. It is the first thing family and friends comment on during their visits here as is the welcome given to all the visitors. It is good that other people have the opportunity to see these efforts recognised through this award.”
