Every family message gets an answer.
Dementia takes the phone call away first. A daughter rings; her mother cannot hold the conversation. She sends a message; nothing comes back. Within months she has stopped — not from lack of love, but because nothing she does seems to land. What is left of that relationship arrives at your door: the anxious calls, the guilt, the relative who feels shut out.
Family Bridge gives her something that works. She records a short video at home — a face, a voice, a few ordinary sentences. It is played to her mother during the day. And afterwards, she hears how it went. Honestly, including the quiet days.
That small certainty changes people. Families who know their part in their relative’s day have less reason to ring out of worry, and arrive as partners rather than complainants. Residents get time with the people who know them best. Your team gets none of the extra work.
The approach builds on Namaste Care, NICE guidance and person-centred practice. We are piloting it to understand it properly before making any claims — guided by Molly Hayden, social worker and Best Interest Assessor, with clinical advisers in dementia research, and ten years of running residential dementia care behind us.
We are looking for a small number of not-for-profit homes to shape the pilot with us. welcome@carefai.com.
