Making Space have successfully integrated their outstanding care provision capabilities with leading electronic care planning provider Nourish Care, which will enable them to improve the quality of care they provide to the people they support through a dedicated and adaptable digital platform.
Making Space is a national charity who have been providing health and social care services for adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, dementia and their carers for over 35 years. With 130 sites providing care and support for over 11,800 people, they provide high quality care and social services at the heart of local communities.
Nourish Care is an electronic care planning provider that works with a range of different care services, offering a flexible digital platform that allows care providers to record at the point of care. The most important goal for Nourish is to enable carers to spend less time on admin, and more time providing face-to-face, person-centred care. Nourish also allows carers to record, monitor and analyse the health of those they support in order to tailor care plans to suit the individual’s needs.
As part of the decision-making process, Making Space drew up a shortlist of providers and asked them to present their digital care planning software to their staff and volunteers to showcase the features and benefits of each platform. After gaining feedback, they asked three providers to pitch for the contract, and chose Nourish Care as their new electronic care-planning partner. The pilot with 11 Making Space sites has recently commenced, with full rollout planned by the end of 2022.
Rachel Peacock, CEO of Making Space said: “As part of our strategy to become more digitally capable, we began exploring electronic care planning solutions. It was important for us to involve our staff in all stages of the decision process, so we ensured representatives from across our services were able to meet with different providers, test various solutions and feedback to us.
“Using this feedback we were able to choose the right provider for us, and I am pleased to say that that is Nourish Care.
“Our decision came down to 3 key benefits: Nourish already provide their service to our most complex service type – secure hospitals; user profiles look very similar to what we deliver and reflect our range of services; and the platform is friendly, intuitive and easy to use.
“We are excited for the future possibilities they bring for our charity and people.”
Nuno Almeida, Founder of Nourish Care said: “We are thrilled to be chosen by Making Space as their electronic care planning partner. Our mission is to enable and empower care teams to provide high-quality care for the people they support, with an easy-to-use, flexible and truly person-centred digital platform. With our shared values of putting people at the heart of everything we do, we are looking forward to working with Making Space to strengthen the already excellent quality of care they provide.”
