Care Service Survey: Musicians training for working in care

HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!

Live Music Now (LMN) is asking care service professionals and activity providers to help further develop the LMN musicians’ training programme by sharing their knowledge and experience in this survey.

Live Music Now supports the musical lives of people in care homes by connecting musicians with the people who live and work in them. This includes one-off concerts as well as longer residencies, participatory music-making, creative songwriting, and developing the musical skills of care teams.  You can find out more about Live Music Now’s work in care here.

Live Music Now trains professional musicians to be able to work well in the places they visit and with the people they meet to ensure quality of practice and the best outcomes for all. The training is underpinned by a competencies framework which covers all aspects of their practice: planning and preparation; session content; engaging participants and care service; developing a reflective approach.

It is very important that the framework is relevant, practical, and informed by practice and the people Live Music Now works with. To ensure this, they’d like to hear from care service professionals.

As a thank-you for filling in the survey, Live Music Now will enter participants (and the care service they work in) into a prize draw. Up for grabs is one free live concert or a pamper kit for you and your team!

Designed in consultation with National Activities Providers Association, the survey comprises 11 questions, and will take approximately 10 minutes to fill in. Deadline for completion and inclusion in the prize draw is 25th March 2022.
