Anchor Excellence, one of Australia’s most prominent Aged Care Consultancy practices, is excited and proud to announce it is taking over the ownership and management of the internationally recognised SAGE study tour program. SAGE, which stands for Studying and Advancing Global Eldercare, is a well-established and recognised aged care and retirement living study tour program that has welcomed Australian Executives’ participation for the last 17 years.
The internationally recognised SAGE Study Tour program was established in 2006 by
ThomsonAdsett, a leading architecture and interior design firm with studios throughout the east coast of Australia and internationally. The SAGE program, under ThomsonAdsett, offered the industry an opportunity to maintain an overview of international design and operational trends, which assisted in the groundbreaking design of many Australian and international facilities by ThomsonAdsett. Anchor Excellence will now take the program forward with the ongoing support of ThomsonAdsett.
The SAGE program became an alliance with ThomsonAdsett, Aged and Community
Services Australia (ACSA) and Leading Aged Services Australia (LASA)(Now ACCPA).
Anchor is committed to continuing the well-established and positive relationship SAGE has held with Australia’s Peak industry Association’s and esteemed International Colleagues. Since its inception, the SAGE program has been led and managed by well-respected industry Executive Judy Martin. Anchor is thrilled to have engaged the services of Judy on its Executive team, where she will continue to manage and grow the SAGE program.
Judy commented, “Being able to offer Aged Care and Retirement Living leaders the
opportunity to experience and see innovative service models and collaborate with
industries’ professionals globally has been a passion of mine for over 30 years.
The SAGE tours have brought, and will now continue to bring under Anchor Excellence
stewardship, a global perspective to our Australian industry in areas such as; different models of care, the built environment, workforce, consumer engagement, research and operations. The impact and value of seeing and experiencing these elements in action in so many other settings is so beneficial to how we shape the Australian aged care system now and into the future, creating sustainable system’s that genuinely provide quality care and services.”
Anchor Excellence, now in its fifth year of operation and supporting over 40% of the sector in Australia, operates in six specialised verticals – Business Advisory and Strategy, Leadership and Governance, Quality & Clinical Governance, Compliance and Operations Management, Education and Workforce Development and Consumer Experience and Engagement. A strategic decision was made to broaden service offerings, enhance the organisation’s mantra ‘Leaders Enabling Leaders‘, and go global.
This move aligns with Anchor’s vision to ‘create an aged care system to be proud of’ and will bring international experience, insights and evidenced-based best practice to Australia.
Cynthia Payne, Founder and Managing Director, commented, “I have been very fortunate to have participated in several international study tour programs over the years and personally know, and have huge respect, for Judy Martin, who has been the Director of SAGE since its inception.
The SAGE study tours are insightful and a fantastic opportunity to see how other countries innovate and meet the world’s most highly respected industry leaders. Anchor is extremely excited to welcome SAGE to the portfolio, with Judy as Executive Lead.
This collaboration will extend our capability and enable Anchor to bring a broader lens to the aged care sector in Australia while also showcasing our reform experience, insights and advancements as a sector to organisations globally.
Anchor Excellence and ThomsonAdsett are inextricably linked by their values and commitment to the aged care industry and their aspiration to provide quality care and services to older Australians through innovation, leadership and business excellence.
Robert Puflett, Partner at ThomsonAdsett, commented, “Sage has built a fantastic
reputation and following over the last 17 years. We are proud to have been an integral part of making that happen. With Anchor Excellence taking the realm in collaboration with valued colleague and industry Executive Judy we believe that the program will go from strength to strength and continue to showcase global excellence in aged care and retirement living.
