Marianne joined Brendoncare as Chief Executive in June 2020, to lead the Foundation in the development of its services across care homes, assisted living sites and community services across the South of England.
Marianne’s career includes over 25 years in the travel and tourism industry, including working for the National Trust, Hoseasons and other overseas travel companies. She is also a long-standing volunteer and trustee of the charity, Across, which organises pilgrimages and holidays for people with high levels of disability, life-limiting and terminal illnesses.
The move into social care from travel may not appear obvious, but was driven by a growing desire for Marianne to work for an organisation that shares her personal values and of making a positive difference to people’s lives, where people’s needs are central and their wishes paramount.
Marianne lives in Hampshire with her husband Matthew and labradoodle Millie. They enjoy spending time with their two grown up children whenever possible. Marianne is a dual French-British national so holidays with the extended family in France have made a welcome return post-covid! Aside from volunteering for Across, Marianne is actively involved with her local church community, enjoys walking, skiing and is a keen rugby supporter.
