In response to the publication of the most recent vaccination statistics from NHSE which shows that 79.4% of eligible social care staff in care homes for older adults have had a COVID-19 jab:

“The 10% increase in vaccine take up among care home staff since mid February demonstrates a steady increase despite the challenges experienced by the care sector – such as the abrupt closure of the vaccine appointment system, the National Booking Service, to care staff at the end of March and anxieties about the AstraZeneca vaccine. It shows that the hard work done by colleagues across the sector is paying off. We must keep the focus on addressing people’s very real hesitancy concerns as well as removing barriers to access. Even in London, which has repeatedly been highlighted as an area of concern, the data shows an increase from 51.9% in February to 69% in April, which again demonstrates that progress is being made”
