The profile of NCF membership is ever evolving and recent analysis we constructed showed that over half of our members offer some form of housing with care support – this includes housing with care for older people, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems.
Talking to members who provide housing with care, it was clear to us that there are a range of key operational and policy issues for providers offering these types of services, which straddle both the more traditional housing and registered care agendas. It was for this reason that we decided to create our eighth forum group; a dedicated forum to explore these issues and offer support and insight to those providing housing with care support.
We are delighted to share that we will be supported by Maxine Espley, Executive Director of Health, Social Care and Support, GreenSquareAccord and Rachael Byrne, Executive Director New Models of Care, Home Group; who will co-chair this forum.
NCF Policy Director, Liz Jones said:
“The NCF is delighted to be launching our eighth dedicated Forum, designed specifically to support our members who offer a wide range of housing with care services. This forum offers an opportunity for these members to network and solve problems together, hear from a range of specialist speakers on key operational and policy issues whilst getting access to the latest news on how the NCF is working to support and represent them.”
Rachael Byrne, Executive Director New Models of Care, Home Group said:
“The role of housing is fundamental to good care; whether that is supporting patients to return home from hospital, providing long-term homes in the community with care provided, offering an alternative to a hospital placement, the list goes on. Launching a new housing and care forum where we can learn and develop solutions is so important post COVID. I am pleased to be co-chairing the Housing and Care Forum for NCF, with Maxine.”
Our first session will be held on Thursday 4th November at 11:00am -12:30pm.
