NCF and Skills for Care announce partnership to support managers

The National Care Forum (NCF) and Skills for Care announces their partnership to host The
Managers Conference 2023 to champion and support the crucial role of managers in adult
social care.

Hosted by NCF and Skills for Care, and in collaboration with ARC England, the conference
will bring together managers from across the country to share knowledge, ask questions and network with colleagues.

The conference will provide an opportunity to share, learn and find solutions and answers to
the challenges managers face on a daily basis, and help them and their teams provide the
highest quality care.

Professor Vic Rayner OBE, CEO, National Care Forum said:
Managers perform an incredible role within organisations – and with this in mind – we are
very proud to provide a fantastic conference jam packed with development opportunities to
enhance their expertise and provide them with opportunities to connect and learn from
each other.
This event keeps getting better each year, and we are delighted that it is underpinned by a
sector wide partnership – including co-hosting with Skills for Care, designed in collaboration
with ARC England and inspired by consultation with managers from across our varied
memberships. We have also moved to a new venue, giving us scope to welcome even more
managers. We hope to see you there!

Oonagh Smyth, CEO, Skills for Care says:
“We’re delighted to be hosting The Managers Conference 2023 in partnership with NCF, and
to be building on the success of last year’s conference.
Managers are at the heart of good services, and this dedicated event is an important way of
recognising and championing their efforts.
We know that managers are busy and so we are focusing on opportunities for practical
development and the importance of hearing from others, drawing on what we know
through our close work with managers, employers, and stakeholders across the sector.

The programme includes a mix of main plenary session and practical workshops, as well as
panel discussions where manager will hear from others in similar roles and people sharing
their lived experience.

Marianne Wanstall, Chief Executive, Brendoncare said:
I have encouraged all our home managers to attend the managers conference, I am very
keen to get them back out and networking after far too long stuck behind closed doors
during covid, so the timing is perfect.

Managers will have the opportunity to think about how to deliver great care, as well as ways
to support and lead their staff, through workshops and discussions around topics including
team working, being confident with difference, delivering outstanding care and recruitment.
Registrations are welcome from managers working in all adult social care and support
settings across the UK.
