NCF’s Here To Care campaign is helping profile the amazing work staff, carers and care providers are doing in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

24 hours a day, seven days a week care home providers and our professional care home staff have continued to provide care under the most challenging of circumstance. They – like their amazing colleagues in health – have done this with compassion, providing a lifeline for the most vulnerable across all our communities, ensuring care settings continue to be places where people thrive.

Here To Care is the strapline and we encourage members to support the campaign and use it as a hashtag on social media #HereToCare.

Checklist to help people navigate care home choices during COVID-19

The need for care doesn’t stop in a pandemic, but COVID-19 means there are additional considerations when choosing a care home for yourself or a loved one.  We have launched a checklist guide  to help those choosing a care setting to navigate decisions during COVID-19.  It sets out the questions to ask and things to consider, to give you peace of mind when choosing a place to call home.

We are inviting our members to share this checklist on websites and social media, as well as for use as part of their response to new enquiries.  You can download the NCF checklist here.

Support from members

We have been delighted by the overwhelmingly positive response from our members, confirming their intention to be involved.  Thank you to the members who have submitted case studies that feature residents (and their families), care workers and care home staff, with a positive story to tell.  Thank you to all spokespeople too, who have put themselves forward for media interviews.

Please keep your stories coming!  There is a real urgency to this request as we want to ensure we achieve a greater balance to the story being told..

Media coverage

In total to date, we have generated 230 pieces of coverage to date for the campaign with an ‘Opportunity to See’ of over 43 million. The coverage achieved has been both local and national coverage.
