Saturday 24th June, Midsummer’s Day; a celebration of the summer season and also a day for Chaucer House care home to throw a celebration party for staff, residents and their families.
The Midsummer party was held to thank the staff for their dedication and excellent care delivery towards the residents at Chaucer House, and to congratulate the staff for their team effort in receiving a ‘good’ CQC (Care Quality Commission) rating across all five domains of their inspection in February.
The party also brought residents and their families together for fun and entertainment for all ages. There was live music on the day from the popular singer Debbie Haze, who sang her way through several music genres and classics over the years.
The home also welcomed the Sheriff and Consort who supported the event, engaging with staff residents and their families. Some Canterbury Cricket club team members also visited and donated a signed cricket bat for the homes next raffle event.
Stephen Norris, Home Manager said ‘It was a wonderful afternoon and a great way to thank and celebrate with our staff all what they continue to do for the people we care for and support at Chaucer House. Our care philosophy supports staff to think about care in a different way, with a positive attitude, helping to create a vibrant community for our residents. The party was an excellent example of this and I would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a success’.
