Vista is recognised as the primary provider of services to blind and visually impaired people in the city of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and has been through its heritage organisations since 1858.

In this time the way that we support people has changed but we still:

• Promote eye health to prevent avoidable sight loss through education programmes and involvement with schools, communities and health professionals;
• Reduce the impact of sight loss through the provision of support to people at the point of diagnosis and through supporting the development of new skills to aid with daily living; and
• Supporting and caring for people with sight loss including children, young people, working age adults, adults with learning disabilities and older people including those with dementia.

Our Services and Activities

The Charity achieves its purpose by delivering a range of services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, which are available to people with sight loss, (including people who are blind or partially sighted and people who are DeafBlind).

Vista holds and manages the Register for blind and partially sighted people on behalf of the three local authorities of Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council. There are currently 6,057 people on the register.
