Our Mission Statement:
“To develop and sustain a successful business enterprise which delivers high quality residential and other care services for older people”
Quantum Care was formed in 1992 to take responsibility for residential care homes for older people, which had previously been run by Hertfordshire County Council. The majority of our homes have been well established in their local communities for many years.
Our Homes
Each of our care homes has been re-built or refurbished in the last 8 years as part of a £30 million building programme. The buildings are specifically designed to provide a safe, secure and homely environment for our clients, with beautiful landscaped gardens, to be enjoyed by residents and visitors.
Each home is comprised of units, each with a self contained kitchen area, bathrooms, lounge and dining areas. Each unit has around 10-15 bedrooms depending on the size of the home. All rooms are single, many with en-suite facilities, promoting independence and dignity for our clients. Residents are encouraged to bring their own belongings and smaller items of furniture with them, and to personalise their rooms as their own. Most of the homes have at least one unit specifically for those clients requiring a higher level of care. These units are designed to care for people with Alzhiemers Disease and other similar illness and have a higher staffing ratio.
Each home has a large fully equipped central kitchen and many of the kitchens in Quantum Care’s homes also provide meals for Day Care centres and Meals on Wheels clients.
We offer a range of care services for more than 1,400 older people throughout Hertfordshire, which include: Residential Care, Short Stay Care, Laundry, Day Care, Meals on Wheels and Bathing. Quantum Care is one of the leading providers of residential care for older people in the county.
Investing in People
Quantum Care is one of the largest employers in Hertfordshire, with almost 1,800 staff. Ensuring that we provide the best possible level of service means that we need to invest heavily in the people who work for us. By doing this we can be sure that our staff are competent and confident in performing their tasks when working with older people.
As a result, Quantum Care has developed a recognised Induction and Training programme for new care staff. Staff at all levels are encouraged to progress and develop their skills by undertaking training towards National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ).Address: 4 Silver Court, Watchmead, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 1TS
