Sussexdown, a Care South care home, has celebrated The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend with a grand garden party across its spectacular grounds with plenty of Food, Fun and Friendship for residents and their friends and families.
The garden party was accompanied by a wonderful brass band concert for residents and their loved ones to enjoy.
The local children’s cadets and girl guides helped join in with the celebrations, alongside Friends of Sussexdown, Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) residents and Chairman of Storrington and Sullington parish council, Anna KM Worthington-Leese who were all in attendance as community guests. Sussexdown is situated in the West Sussex village of Storrington and is a welcoming and comfortable care home accommodating 77 residents. The home is part of Care South, a not-for-profit charity and leading provider of residential and home care across the south of England but was previously a RAFA home and is proud to maintain historic links with the veteran community.
Emma Mitchell, Activities Lead at Sussexdown, commented: “I am so pleased that everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at Sussexdown. It was such a special day, and I want to thank the cadets and girl guides for helping with the celebrations. There was such a buzz during the day of the celebrations and it certainly was a spectacular Platinum Jubilee enjoyed by residents and their loved ones.”
