Not-for-profit quality care for over 25 years

Spooky times at Oaklea – surely not!

Oaklea employees and those we support have really been getting into the Halloween spirit! In fact it seems such spirits stalk many of our rooms, kitchens & beyond! Let it never be said our people need little persuading to dress up…..

You have been warned….the ‘witching hour’ approaches!

We have a few tricks in store…

First – We take a brave venture into Kendal

Follow us on a trail of bobbing, skeletons in the cupboard & falling axes!

Manor Barn held a ‘Fright Night‘! – As you can see it definitely lived up to it’s very scary billing!

It was an evening to remember for customers and staff – big thanks especially go to Katie ‘Morticia who’ Corrie, Bernice ‘Axe attack’ Dean & Danielle ‘Pumpkin catwalk’ Hannan

Meanwhile across the Pennines -bumps in the night aplenty!

Over in County Durham – it was all going off at their Halloween party in Spennymoor!

Catherine Rooney, Team Manager: “Our customers enjoyed the Halloween Bingo, pass the pumpkin, decorating Halloween masks, dancing to the Halloween tunes and tucking into the Halloween buffet.”

Trick or treat – you decide…

Just as well you may add – as you can see – Susanne our previously anointed “Queen of Spennymoor” – is fully prepared! Oaklea’s Kay Berriman held a crafty session & carved out a new niche for all concerned!

To the Haunted (Barnard) Castle we go….

There’s a few scary nights to be had in Barnard Castle too! The ever so haunting Kendra (working on behalf of Oaklea’s paranormal division) spotted these top characters lurking within the walls….

Our Kendra, not one to be afraid of ghosts & ghoulies….also managed to stay calm enough to capture the scary monsters & super creeps having a ball….

Though there’s a few cobwebs at large in Durham that may require some tidying up after all the festivities….

Broomstick – take us back to South Lakes…

Yes your wish is our command – the Halloween spirit is alive & well- this time for those we support at New Road! They’ve been carving out their own spooky niche…

Our very own mistress of all things dotty at night – Dorothy -‘Dotti by name’ Gibbons: “I’ve been Photo bombed by mistake from our fab pumpkin carving high jinks at New Road. We had a smashing (pumpkin) time.”

They’re squashing it in Barrow!

Team Manager, Zoe Jones, says customers at Foundry Street in Barrow – all too happy to oblige & provide a glowing tribute!

There is nothing to fear but fear itself….

Fear not – We’re in good hands with Bernice – our protector!

Where do Pumpkins come from?

From Ryan with love of course….!

All this pumpkin stuff – has made us wonder – where & how do they appear! Well we may have found someone with exceptionally blue er green fingers in the Halloween stakes!

This is Ryan – one of our young chaps at Rakehead, Ulverston. He’s truly got into the creepy spirit – he grows, he craves, he gives his Team Manager, Joanne ‘Mrs Tombola’ May potential ideas for spooky soups!

Joanne: “Ryan wanted to grow pumpkins this year on our veg patch…this lot is our harvest…wow!”

“Who you gonna call….”

Clearly everyone taking the Oaklea Vision to heart for all hallows eve – “We deliver the finest chilling opportunities in the kindest possible way” – ‘ghostbusting‘ some myths about working in social care at the same time!

So we say farewell to our ghoulies…..until the next time! (Just check under the bed just in case these folks pay you a visit on the 31st…you never know! We’re staying safely behind the sofa until next year!)

All Hallows End….ready, aim, praise!
