St Ives House, a Care South care home situated near Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest National Park, scooped the ‘Care Home of the Year’ award at the company’s annual Stars Awards ceremony, held recently.
Now in its 13th year, the Stars Awards recognise and reward individuals and teams from across the company for their outstanding achievements and excellent care provision. They are an important event during which time is taken to celebrate care staff and thank them for their frontline duties and commitment to residents. The ceremony was held live over Zoom with Care South’s Chairman, Jane Stichbury and Chief Executive, Simon Bird hosting each care home and Care South at Home office joining online and having an afternoon of celebration offline afterwards.
All Care South care homes enjoy some friendly competition and there must be a winner, but it was not an easy decision for judges as the high-quality of care and feedback consistently received from residents and relatives across the whole Care South group is second to none. The St Ives House team was delighted to be presented with the ‘Care Home of the Year’ award based on a number of criteria including feedback and reviews from residents and relatives. The Care South fundamental principles of Food, Fun and Friendship are ever-present in all Care South homes and the team at St Ives House just pipped other homes to win this award and recognition.
Emma Cotton, Home Manager at St Ives House, commented: “We are delighted to have won the Care Home of the Year award. The team are always going above and beyond to help residents to continue to lead rich and fulfilling lives and all our hard work has paid off. We all love what we do and wouldn’t want to change it. Thank you to our fantastic team for helping make this happen.”
Simon Bird, Chief Executive at Care South, added: “What a challenging year we have had, and our Stars Awards event is a wonderful way to highlight the commitment and hard work from all our care homes. I was so pleased to have the opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate that and to thank everyone at Care South for their dedication to the many people in our care. Well done to Emma and the team at St Ives House! I hope all our homes are as proud of themselves as I am of them – well done to all!”
