A big thanks to the Rah Rah Theatre Company who transported a group of our residents back to the golden years of the 1950s this week with a rockin’ performance here at Whiteley Village – and also to the RC Sherriff Trust, (a charity promoting the arts in Elmbridge), who funded the show.
`Rock Around The Clock`, a musical comedy love story, set in the 1950’s got residents singing along to all the popular tunes of the era, and some staff were even treated to spin on the impromptu dance floor!
Lisa Sparrow, Registered Manager said: “We had residents from both our care homes Ingram House and the Eliza Palmer Hub as well as Huntley House our extra care centre, at the performance, and they all had a fabulous time! This is the first show we’ve been able to put on for residents for about 18 months due to Covid and they were so excited.
“The theatre group were brilliant – they really tried to involve everyone and got the whole room laughing and singing along. It was such a great atmosphere, and exactly what everyone needed after the terrible time everyone’s had recently!”
