Quantum Carer wins Prestigious Care Award

On Friday 3rd November, Zachary Ekpe from Mayfair Lodge Care Home in Potters Bar was announced as the winner of the Care Home Activity Coordinator Award at the East of England Division of the Great British Care Awards.

The awards ceremony took place in the Ballroom of the Milton Keynes Dons Football Stadium where over 300 guests were in attendance. The Care Home Activity Coordinator Award recognises outstanding individuals who go above and beyond to enhance the quality of life for residents in care homes through engaging and innovative activities. Zachary’s commitment to his role and the positive impact he has had on the lives of Mayfair Lodge Care residents impressed the judges and earned him this well-deserved accolade.

Zachary was absolutely delighted to receive the award and said “Receiving the Care Home Activity Coordinator Award is truly an honour. I am humbled and overjoyed to be recognised for doing what I love—improving the lives of our residents. This award belongs to the entire Mayfair Lodge Care family, and I couldn’t have achieved this without their support and dedication.”

Zachary now goes forward to the national finals, where he will represent the East of England Division. The national finals are set to take place next year in Birmingham, and Zachary’s colleagues, residents, and the entire Mayfair Lodge Care community will be keeping their fingers crossed for his continued success.

Jacqui Makwangwala, the Home Manager at Mayfair Lodge Care said, “We are all so pleased that Zachary has won this award. He is an exceptional member of our team and he embodies the spirit of compassion, creativity, and commitment that we value at Mayfair Lodge Care. We are incredibly proud of him and wish him the best of luck in the national finals.”
