People with learning disabilities takes on the Mount Snowdon Challenge

A team of people with learning disabilities or mental health needs will be climbing Mount Snowdon on 11 October with the help of their support staff from Active Prospects, a charitable care provider based in Surrey and Sussex. This challenge will push the team to their limits as they walk nine miles on difficult terrain and they will need support from the local community to get them to the peak!

The team will be aiming to raise £3000 for Active Prospects which will fund activities for people with learning/physical disabilities, mental health needs and autistic people.

Matt and Leanne receive care and support from Active Prospects and are both taking part in the trek. Matt said, “I am doing the climb to challenge myself and support the charity which has supported me for 15 years”. Leanne said “I’m looking forward to climbing Mount Snowdon as I have never done something like this before. I will not let myself down and I will keep on climbing”.
