Oaklea & R2W Weekly Update

Welcome again to celebrating some of what we have been up to via our respective websites and beyond! &

This week one of our own Learners – Matty2- gives us a Lift! (and you can join him….)

  • Steve is all at sea… the landlocked Trafford Centre!

  • Helen blows in the New Year

  • Lisa is ‘Dunne’ with this modelling lark…

  • We make the headlines for having a ‘wrecking ball’!

It’s ‘access all areas’ thanks to “Mr Matty2”!

Can we have a big round of applause for R2W Learner Matt ‘Matty2’ Tuson….

He was tasked (press ganged he would say?!) by our webmaster (who he?) with creating a user friendly way of getting to R2W/Oaklea Towers at Station House in Kendal.

The gauntlet down….Matt got to work -in fact he said ‘Nevermind’ – I have some ideas….just get me some extras, some sticky tape and card….and shout ‘ACTION’!

So with a little assistance from our Future Choices gang…..he put together a bit of celluloid to make any visit to Station House a bit simpler!

You can see the results above or on the links below….Now just got to take a call from a Mr S Spielberg….

Jaw dropping!

Anyone fancy a quick dip in the sea?

Maybe take Steve ‘we need a bigger boat’ Corrance with you –our intrepid old sea dog (with his trusty sidekick Danielle from Manor Barn) have just seen in the New Year with a very exciting trip at sea!

Find out what they got up to on the link – we assume Steve went to the Sea Life Centre to see the wildlife and not just for a swifter dental appointment?

Lisa on a roll

Introducing…..the great unveiling…

This is Lisa Dunne – latest member of the R2W Community Learning team – oh and she’s not just this years model – she’s next to our brand new Community Learning banner – watch out for it and Lisa- at an event, jobs fair or other unravelling near you soon!

But if you can’t wait and the excitement is too much – Find out more about what R2W Community Learning offers here:

It’s not NY until Helen says!

Our favourite 24/7 branded ‘working behaviours’ support, Dotti ‘funky’ Gibbons has been at it again…spreading the love and good cheer!

“(Like many in Oaklea) I worked New Years Eve so was fun n games at New Road. Some of the boys were away – So girls just wanted to have fun! We played race Reindeer and Ruth was the winner. Then Karaoke to see the New Year in.”

Do they mean us?

The news we shared with you last week, that the former Edenside Care Home in Appleby, is now up for demolition – a big step forward for Oaklea – made much of the local and trade media.

It’s all about the detail says Milly!

She’s come out of the shadows…..for good reason!

Yes our Youth supremo Milly has some important updates on our weekly clubs offer in Kendal that may be of interest to you or someone you know!

She was clearly given a thesaurus for Christmas….as she’s gone description crackers – and given more life to the clubs we offer (these are part of the Short Breaks offer -so see link for eligibility etc)
