Think Mental Health – MHFA there 4 you
This is sent on behalf of Helen Shaw, HR Manager:
“The Oaklea Group Mental Health First Aid Team (MHFA) have welcomed additional colleagues who joined the team earlier this year. The MHFA team are trained by Mental Health England and will receive annual refresher training to ensure the team are compliant, competent and skilled in their roles.
Life can be hard and we all have different challenges and circumstance in life. Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA’s) are trained and confidential employees who are there for any support you may need.
Alongside our MHFA’s we provide support through Sovereign Health Care. They can help in an array of areas – Health and Lifestyle, Legal Information, Home Life and Work Life. They have a helpline with qualified nurses who can offer a sympathetic ear and also offer practical information.
As an employee you are given all this support free of charge but there is also the opportunity at a small fee to include family members, therefore supporting the whole family.”

Falling for the Dales….
This is Janet and Philip from Langdale House, Barrow. They’ve just had a lovely holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. They were with Oaklea Support Julie Millard and Wendy Quinn.
Team Manager, Zoe Jones says “They had a lovely time staying in a cottage outside Leyburn. As you can see they visited Castle Bolton and Aysgarth Falls. It was Janet’s first time away with us in the five years she’s been with us – and only the second time she’s been away in her life – so that was so great that we could make this happen.”
