Oaklea & R2W Update

Welcome again to celebrating some of what we have been up to via our respective websites and beyond!

https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/news/ & https://www.right2work.org.uk/news/

This week it’s all about…

  • Lighting up the town!

  • Spreading happiness

  • Getting ‘bowled over’

  • And we’re joined by a Quizmaster extraordinaire!

For this & much more – read on – but no phoning a friend!

Happiness at work week

“National Happiness at work” week is this week 25-29th September – and who better to spread the love than our very own bundle of joy – Peter ‘Baron’ Bradbury!

You can see the Supported Internship Team with our R2W Supreme Leader at a recent bonding event to celebrate them winning the team award (Employee Awards) earlier this year in March!

R2W’s Claire Round: “Happiness at work – working together, sharing ideas and working towards goals also brings us happiness at work and we can celebrate these achievements outside of work too! We had such a fantastic afternoon, afterwards we all enjoyed a meal.”

This is right up my alley says Milly…..what about you?

Spread the word if relevant – we now have our Half Term October Short Breaks activity trip confirmed – a Halloween session followed by Bowling in Morecambe! (Wednesday 25th October) To book and check eligibility click on button below for more info.

We’ve also roped in some young people* on our R2W Future Choices programme – they spontaneously (no pressure!) were encouraged to put up some hand crafted posters to remind you of the brand new names of our 4 Clubs:

They are

Coniston

Buttermere

Ullswater

Kentmere

They’re on Tuesdays – Fridays after school

*Some of whom have come through our Clubs/Short Breaks activities themselves!

This is Multi tasking Matt!

Sometimes a hero emerges…..that can do umpteen roles – and yet requires no cape! In fact he was full of ‘teen spirit’!

As part of our R2W Future Choices programme (https://www.right2work.org.uk/futurechoices/) Matt suggested creating a quiz to engage his fellow Learners – he also developed a newsletter and much more. If that wasn’t enough he’s a budding chess grandmaster too!

Find out what he’s been up to here…

Our Learning2Live project in Windermere is all about life skills and getting ready for adulthood.  Jordan & Kian have been working away at the start of a new academic year as part of their independent (structured) study time.
