Northfleet Care Home Residents Transported to the Tropics

With the weather warming up, residents of Dene Holm Residential Care Home were transported to the tropics this week, with a tiki-tastic Hawaiian party.

Residents of the Dene Holm Road care home said ‘aloha’ to some summer fun this week, as staff hosted a themed party in the garden, to make the most of the sunny spring weather.

With pineapples and palm trees everywhere, staff had set up the gazebo and former visiting pod, filling them with flower garlands, bunting, paper lanterns, cactus lights and even backdrops, to really set the scene and get everyone into the party mood.

Partygoers were given Leis to wear and invited to sample fresh and fruity cocktails from the tiki bar, served with cocktail umbrellas, of course. A tasty buffet was also served up and staff provided a pop up photobooth, complete with props.

Joanne Bennett, Deputy Manager of Dene Holm said: “As the weather has been so nice, we thought it’d be a great idea to host a garden party and what could be more fun than a Hawaiian theme?

“The weather was great and the residents had a lovely time, we even had some relatives and friends come and join us, which made it even more special.”
