Staff at St Ives House care home, near Ringwood, have been given a morale boost thanks to a mystery local resident.

As well as receiving a donation of facemasks from a relative of a resident, staff arrived at work to see a banner had been erected.

It read: “To all the staff at St Ives House, thank you for all that you do. You are all stars.”

Staff are still in the dark over who created and put up the banner near the care home, in Horton Road.

A spokesperson said: “A huge thank you firstly to one of our family members at St Ives House who so kindly donated 50 of these face shields to help protect our residents and staff.

“Secondly, a huge thank you to the mystery person who had this wonderful banner created thanking the staff for all they do.

“The staff and residents are all keeping safe and feeling appreciated at St Ives during these difficult times.”

Many relatives of residents have also been sending in their thanks and support for staff during the Coronavirus lockdown, which are available to read on the Care South website:
