Now the summer holidays have started we have been very very busy with our programme of holiday activities across the organisation. Here’s a summary of the first week!
Our first young people’s Short Breaks activity trip for the summer saw us venture into Grizedale Forest in the heart of the Lake District on Thursday. (More on our Short Breaks offer here https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/short-breaks/)
Meanwhile in a parallel wooded universe: An Oaklea customer from County Durham was also on the trail of Zog! Max – with support from Nichola B and Matt J set forth. Nichola Bainbridge adds: “With Max you can see we were looking for the Gruffalo and Zog! We supported Max through the woods looking for clues and looking for the Gruffalo. We had Lovely walks and explored the dens and had plenty of activity.”
Meanwhile – For our first ever Holiday Activity & Food Programme (HAF) #HAF2023 day trip we went to Lakes Aquarium on Friday. Trips out are a brand new offer for this summer. (find out more about HAF here: https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/holiday-activities-fund/)
Guess what finally popped out of the hat!
They just can’t stay away from the Lake District – Some more of our North East customers also hit the Lakes -and met up with a rather famous Rabbit! Oaklea’s Kendra Richards made this wee video of their venture into the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness.
Kendra – in between munching a tasty carrot – “Myself, Janet and Nic went with customers Pauline, Caroline & Laura to see Peter Rabbit and Friends. They loved it.”
