Residents and staff of Dene Holm Residential Care Home in Northfleet had Christmas all wrapped up, as they received several kind donations from the local community.
It’s a time for giving and that certainly seemed to ring true at the Dene Holm Road care home, where residents and staff received lots of thoughtful gifts over the festive period.
The local Morrisons store have supported residents of the home for a long time now, donating anything from fresh flowers to giant pumpkins, and their kindness continued into Christmas, as the Coldharbour Road superstore invited shoppers to buy a gift for a resident, using their in store giving tree. Chris, the home’s contact at Morrisons, kindly dropped off several bags of gifts ahead of the big day.
The children of the 3rd Milton Brownies also wanted to let the residents know they were thinking of them, so they sent a Christmas card along with some beautiful handmade decorations.
The kindness was extended to the local community, who collectively sent in cards and kind gifts, such as colouring pens, activity utensils, gloves and hats.
Christine Hutchinson, General Manager of Dene Holm said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who thought of us this Christmas. Our residents’ relatives are always so generous too, sending in chocolates and biscuits for the staff, it is lovely to know our hard work is appreciated and that our community is thinking of our residents at this time.”
