(November 2022, Winslow, Buckinghamshire) The community campaign, GNOMEVEMBER, is in full swing with Gnomes popping up all over Winslow in support of local care home Swan House.
Gnome place like home. The whole community have been flocking to collect their free Gnome from Swan House to paint and display in a bid to raise funds for an interactive table to enhance the lives of residents. Over 50 Gnomes have found new homes so far!
Swan House Manager, Mohammed Hussein said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the response so far, it’s been truly inspiring! We’ve had lots of local people coming to collect their free Gnome and pledging support to the campaign. Lots of businesses on the High Street are also taking part and are displaying their painted Gnomes alongside posters promoting the JustGiving page for donations.
“We’re hoping to raise enough funds to purchase an interactive activity table for our residents, many of whom are living with dementia. The table will enhance the lives of the people we care for by igniting sensory skills.”
Support from local businesses has been superb with many displaying promotional posters and collection boxes.
Give a Gnome a Home! Once people have collected and painted their Gnome, they are encouraged to share a picture of their painted Gnome on social media using the hashtag #Gnomevember and tagging @SwanHouseCareHome to spread joy and support.
