With indoor group activities still unable to take place, staff at Watling Court decided to lift residents’ spirits this Easter weekend, by providing a little pick me up treat.

Residents of Watling Court Extra Care Housing Scheme in Ifield Way, Gravesend were treated to an Easter special afternoon tea, courtesy of staff this Bank Holiday weekend.

To spread a bit of Easter cheer, staff put together some takeaway treat bags that the residents could enjoy from the comfort of their own flat. Filled with seasonal treats like hot cross buns and chocolate treats, the deliveries were a welcome surprise for the residents of the scheme.

Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court said: “Under normal circumstances, we’d usually have lots going on over Easter and whilst we have seen some easing of restrictions, we still cannot do our usual activities together.

“To cheer everyone up, we put together a takeaway afternoon tea bag, that they could enjoy in their flat, with hot cross buns, teabags, biscuits and chocolate. It was a lovely surprise and the residents were really pleased with their little treat. It’s been a tough year for them and the little things like this make all the difference.”
