HICA held their annual Christmas card competition receiving over 80 entries in this year’s Christmas Card Competition. All the cards were bright and cheerful, perfectly capturing the festive feel-good nature of the season.
The panel of 5 judges took a long time deliberating, eventually selecting the 6 winners. Congratulations went to the winners (in no particular order): Doreen Wood (Cranwell Court), Brenda Walmsley (The Grange), Julie Parker (The Birches), Phyllis Mimmack (Tamarix Lodge), Mike George (Raleigh Court) and also a collaborative entry from Sunningdale Court.
The Judges were made up of staff from HICA’s Head office in Hesslewood and included Terry Peel, Julia Woodcock, Steve Reed, Cydney Mills and Cameron Innes. Julia said, “This year we had a fantastic response, with residents and teams from across the entire Group submitting their expertly hand-crafted designs, making this year’s competition such a huge success. We would like to give our congratulations to the winners and thank everyone who entered and want to wish everyone a very happy Christmas!” The prizes included professionally printed cards with their design and a gift bag filled with personalised Christmas gifts.
The competition always proves to be a hit with residents and is just one of many popular festive crafting activities taking place across HICA this Christmas, including; baking cakes, making tree decorations and creating pompom snowmen.
