Having a splashing time!

Some of our people have been busy fundraising for good causes and getting wet in the process – on the hips and on the lips!

Alice dives in…

You will recall we told you Oaklea supported Alice Cambridge was raising money for her chosen charity – Manna House (reminder here https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/rocking-the-pool/) Well we now have some excellent footage of our very own Aquawoman!

All eyes on Aquawoman Alice!

Oaklea’s very own water based correspondent, Karen ‘KK’ Kidd: “These are some photos and videos of Alice and her fabulous achievement doing her fundraising off her own back for Manna House. She raised £50 and swam an incredible 100 lengths!”

Lengthy objective…

Here you can see some of the coverage of her achievement – remember it’s an Olympic year in Paris Alice – never too late….just saying!

…If only BBCSky Sports etc had coverage like this- nice one KK!

To cap it all…

100 lengths…no problem!

Manna House provides a community of support to meet the physical, social and emotional needs of people who are homeless or vulnerably housed in South Lakeland (more here https://www.manna-house.org.uk/)

Would you like a cake with that?

Fancy a brew for a good cause?

Meanwhile our Right2Work Future Choices team & Learners held a successful fundraising coffee morning at RSPCA Westmorland Branch in Kendal. The event was organised by the Learners and proved a big hit with those who attended (the excellent cakes probably helped too!)

Coffee reaches the parts…

They raised an amazing £652 for Oaklea! The event was well attended and also an opportunity to raise awareness of the basic maths programme, Multiply and other Community Learning offers from R2W.

Find out more about the R2W Community Learning offer here https://www.right2work.org.uk/work-and-learn/community-learning/

From fundraising to raising glasses!

Altogether now! Alice had time to celebrate too – her good friend Helen’s birthday! You can see them enjoying a meal at ‘Table Table’ – also in attendance were Grace from Learning2Live, Team Manager Vanessa Washington and good chum Kay.
