To mark Carers Week, the activity and kitchen teams at Edward Moore House Residential Care Home in Gravesend, teamed up to host a special treat for their colleagues.

In honour of Carers Week, which ran from 8-14th June and aims to make carers more visible, Christine Boswell, the home’s activity coordinator and Debbie O’Neill, Lead Cook decided to treat their colleagues to a special cream tea, as a reward for their hard work.

And it was a well-deserved treat indeed, after all their commitment and dedication, particularly during the pandemic. The afternoon gave the team the opportunity to put their feet up for ten minutes and enjoy a cup of tea, alongside a freshly baked scone, with clotted cream and jam, from the very best china.

Melanie Martin, Deputy Manager at Edward Moore House said: “The team here always work so hard but particularly with the current situation, everyone is pulling together to support one another and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents.

It is a credit to the team that we’ve managed to keep the situation with Covid-19 very low here at Edward Moore House, I’m very proud of them all.
