Love was in the air at Edward Moore House Residential Care Home in Gravesend this week, as residents got together for a Valentine’s Day party.

Keen to keep everyone’s spirits up as lockdown continues, staff of the Trinity Road residential care home decided to host a Valentine’s party for the residents, with the aim of spreading a little love.

They ensured the dining room was decorated especially for the occasion, with red tablecloths and lovely fresh pink roses on each table. Tables were also adorned with various handmade cards, made by the creative residents and each displaying a different message, such as ‘love is all around’ and ‘feel the love.’

The residents relaxed and enjoyed some themed games and romantic music as they tucked into a tasty buffet and a glass of red wine. Their buffet also included some delicious pink cupcakes, which they’d helped staff to make ahead of the event.

Christine Hutchinson, Home Manager of Edward Moore House said: “Whilst we’ve had some great news with the vaccine rollout in our home over recent weeks, things are not yet back to normal so we thought it’d be a great idea to lift everyone’s spirits with a party.

“The residents had a lovely afternoon enjoying the fun and games and they spent some time chatting and reminiscing together about their memories of their own sweethearts too.”
