“The Oaklea Trust and Right2Work are developing and growing our Apprentice academy across both organisations.” Helen Shaw, HR Manager, Oaklea Group
This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we are celebrating this by also bigging up our own Oaklea Apprentice Academy – this has been running for several years now and one of the success stories has been Niamh Caffrey!
How Niamh has got stuck in over the past year…
Niamh has been working with our social care teams across South Lakes – from Windermere to Kendal and in a variety of settings with young and old! (in fact she was our face of Apprenticeship Week a year ago reminder https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/making-time-for-tasty-apprenticeships/)
Just taking everything in her stride
We caught up with Niamh this morning. She’s currently working with our teams at New Road, Kendal. She’s really enjoying her time as an Apprentice and all the things she’s learning on the job (as well as sessions at Kendal College).
I want to be like Niamh!
You can become an Apprentice in Social Care (and at our CIC Right2Work -see below) – to find out more about the Apprentice Academy click here https://www.oakleatrust.co.uk/progressing-at-oaklea/ or call our HR Team 01539 735025
Oaklea Apprentice Academy – Expanding across the North!
Things are taking off and not just for Niamh! We’re taking the Apprentice Academy to the NE and to Furness.
“The Oaklea Trust and Right2Work are continuing to develop and grow our Apprentice Academy across both organisations. We currently working with Furness College, Kendal College and Derwentside College, Consett. We are supporting employees on a number of qualifications in order to strengthen their skills and knowledge and to equip them in the job roles with us. We are looking to enrol further apprentices over the next 12 month in South Lakes, Furness, County Durham and Northumberland and have just begun to work with East Durham College to enrol our first Lifestyle Co-ordinator (Support Worker) apprentice in Spennymoor in County Durham. Helen Shaw, HR Manager, Oaklea Group.
Stop Press: New Apprentice role at R2W Community Works
This is a great opportunity to work with our South Lakes based property maintenance duo – Big Jim Green & Barry ‘2 vans’ Paul.
“The role of an apprentice at Community Works is essential in helping with the smooth running of the service, the role will also provide support and learning for the Apprentice to focus on their work skills, work ethic, travelling independently to and from their placement and work.” Oaklea HR
Here’s Big Jim Green from Community Works to give you an idea of what you will be doing:
To join Jim & Barry and find out more about the role – get in touch with Oaklea HR Team email@example.com Plus get more details on what the role entails here https://www.right2work.org.uk/community-works/have-you-heard-were-getting-an-apprentice/
So hopefully we have wetted your appetite…
Be part of something – be it community care or community enterprise!
We’ll leave Niamh to it
We can’t confirm or deny if Robert is now taking her to Kilmarnock to see his favourite footy team! Could be a bridge too far for our Niamh!
