Swan House raises over £1,000 with their Gnomevember campaign!
They set out to bring the community together to raise funds and smiles, and their GNOMEVEMBER campaign has done just that!
200 Gnomes were given out for free to the local community to paint and display in a bid to fundraise for a new interactive table for residents at Swan House Care Home. With Gnomevember now coming to an end the total for both on and offline donations takes the home one-third of the way toward their £3,000 target.
Rob Hunt Regional Manager from Ambient, the national charity that delivers care at Swan House, said:
“Huge congratulations to everyone who helped make our inaugural GNOMEVEMBER such a success. We loved how the whole community came together to support this campaign and the funds raised will go on to make such a huge difference to our residents.”
Winslow residents flocked to Swan House to Give a Gnome a Home this November sharing pictures and support on social media.
Local businesses were also on hand to lend their support, with Gnomes given homes at the fire station, hotel & pub plus many of Winslow’s high street shops, cafes and independent businesses. Some even taking on charity boxes to boost fundraising donations. Children from Winslow Primary School joined in the fun with a class full of gnomes being given over for painting, displaying and rehoming!
Rob concludes; “The combination of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis has hugely impacted people’s well-being. We wanted to do something that united the very special community in Winslow by participating in something joyful and fun. We can’t wait until next year when we hope to make Gnomevember even bigger and better!”
