Dorchester care home residents knit poppies in aid of Remembrance Day

Residents at Care South’s Maiden Castle House care home in Dorchester, have knitted poppies during their latest knit and natter session which they are selling in aid of Remembrance Day.

Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. Some residents at Maiden Castle House grew up during the war and this is a small gesture from them to say thank you.

Rachel Sohorye, Home Manager at Maiden Castle House, commented: “Our job is to help support and nurture residents in our care to help them keep living fulfilled lives. It was wonderful to see so many ladies taking part in such a special knit and natter session. They all made fantastic poppies which are now proudly on display and for sale.”

Maiden Castle House is a 66-bed welcoming care home in Dorchester that offers residential, dementia and respite care.
