Brunelcare’s Deerhurst Care Home, located in Soundwell, is proud to announce that it has officially achieved Three Star Platinum Accreditation with the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS) – the highest level of recognition available in dementia care after an inspection that took place in September 2025. Only four Care Homes this year, (Deerhurst included) have been awarded the prestigious 3-star accreditation putting them in the top 1% of dementia care providers.
NaDCAS is a nationally recognised, evidence-based framework developed by leading experts to support care providers in delivering outstanding dementia care. Achieving Three Star Platinum Accreditation demonstrates that Deerhurst Care Home has reached the pinnacle of excellence, achieving distinguished recognition across all nine key areas – from staff training and leadership to environment, wellbeing, and emotional connection.

Achieving Three Star Platinum Accreditation is both a proud milestone and a promise for the future. Deerhurst Care Home thrived on their vision, culture and leadership, nurture, team approach and had uncountable ‘exceptional’ mentions through the report, some included were: ‘Information on a person’s preferences, likes and dislikes is easily accessible to the team although confidentially protected’, ‘There are accessible and varied ‘wellbeing and activity resources’ on offer in social areas for people to use at their leisure. Resources have been deployed to meet people’s individual needs and are not just ‘for show’ and ‘Each person has a meaningful engagement or wellbeing plan which outlines clear strategies of how staff can encourage wellbeing, independence and engagement’.

Brunelcare’s Glastonbury Care Home and Little Heath Care & Support have also both recently achieved their Gold Standard Framework for Excellence in End-of-Life Care. The two homes are currently going through the accreditation process with Little Heath’s taking place in December and Glastonbury Care Home’s next March for their final audits.
