People who work in or draw on social care are being supported to save hundreds of pounds their energy bills this winter with Taking Charge.
Taking Charge offers fun, free e-learning which can be completed in less than 15 minutes, helping people to identify simple life hacks that can reduce energy and utility bills by as much as £10000 when collectively implemented. This content has been specially designed to support the busy routines of professional and family carers
It also offers easy-read resources that support people who need more adapted communications, explaining energy saving techniques in accessible and engaging ways.
The programme has been developed by the charity Community Integrated Care in partnership with the National Care Forum. It was delivered to more than 1500 people in 2023, with an incredible of 100% of participants stating that it helped them to find new ways to reduce their bills.
Our CEO, Vic Rayner said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Community Integrated Care to promote the Taking Charge campaign; a collection of much-needed, accessible resources designed to help people take control of their energy bills. As the colder days and longer nights draw in, these are a welcome and timely aid for those facing high energy bills.
“Taking Charge empowers care and support workers to better support people drawing on care and support to make informed choices about their own energy use as well as how to do the same themselves. Small changes can make a big difference. Together, we hope to build on the successes of the campaign in previous years to help protect the environment, reduce potential fuel poverty and save money on energy bills for everyone.”
