At the Bolton Cares Life Opportunities Community Hub, something special happened when a group of people came together around shared interests, creativity and a willingness to learn from one another.

What started as conversations about hobbies, skills and personal interests quickly evolved into a thriving creative group. Drawing on the talents of both the people Bolton Cares supports and members of their staff team, the group began exploring ways to recycle and upcycle clothing, transforming unwanted garments into unique and personalised designs.

As confidence grew, so did ambition. The group developed their own identity and brand, becoming CLOUD (Community Life Opportunities Unique Design), a creative enterprise built on inclusion, sustainability and self-expression.

Through CLOUD, people discovered new skills, built friendships, developed confidence and experienced the pride that comes from creating something truly their own. The project also demonstrated the power of co-production, with everyone contributing ideas, inspiration and expertise.

Working in partnership with local Community Interest Company Stars and Stitches, the group took their vision even further. Together, they developed their designs and prepared for an exciting milestone: launching their very first fashion show.

The event was a celebration of creativity, individuality and possibility. Models proudly showcased their designs on the catwalk, sharing their achievements with family, friends and the wider community. More than a fashion show, it was a demonstration of what can happen when people are given the opportunity, encouragement and support to pursue their passions.

CLOUD continues to grow from strength to strength, proving that when communities come together, creativity can become confidence, confidence can become opportunity, and opportunity can transform lives.
