After having to postpone their original wedding date due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Brendoncare Froxfield’s carer, Fiona Baynham, finally got to celebrate her special day. Fiona and her new husband Karl were able to tie the knot in Swindon on Friday 11 September, before making a trip to Brendoncare Froxfield to share their celebrations and show off her beautiful gown.

The staff and residents were able to socially distance in the gardens as they all celebrated Fiona and Karl’s special day and even had a glass of prosecco to toast the newlyweds! Brendoncare Froxfield resident, Lilian, made the bride’s beautiful bouquet and the flower basket for the bride’s grand-daughter.

Brendoncare Froxfield Deputy Manager, Lesley Marshall, said “Staff and residents were very happy to celebrate with the bride and groom albeit at a social distance. It was the pick me up we all needed at Froxfield.”

It has been a month of double celebrations for Fiona as she also celebrated her 50th birthday with the team and residents at the care home. Fiona was presented with a delicious birthday cake.

Brendoncare Froxfield, between Hungerford and Marlborough, is a nursing home which caters for 44 residents and includes a specialist 16 bed dementia care household. It has been specifically designed to enable older people to live independent, happy and fulfilling lives.
