Weymouth School of Ballet has been selected by Care South as one of its beneficiaries of the Chairman’s 2020 Fund. Weymouth School of Ballet, close to Care South’s Weymouth care home, Buxton House, is a dance school that provides ballet, tap, modern street, musical theatre, freestyle and contemporary lessons for all aged 2-18+. They were presented with £1,000 by Care South’s Chairman, Jane Stichbury, and Chief Executive, Simon Bird.
The Chairman’s 2020 Fund was set up last year with the aim of supporting ‘Care South’s Friends’ and has been established with the aim of benefiting Care South employees, volunteers and community groups who provide a community service to the groups care homes, care at home offices, clients or residents.
Simon Bird, Care South’s Chief Executive, commented: “We are pleased to be able to support this local ballet school which is important to our Buxton House colleagues locally. We are delighted too that the school in turn is able to visit our residents and put on performances from time to time which our residents love.
The Principal at Weymouth School of Ballet, Mrs Daphne Crump, added, “We are thrilled with this generous donation which will really help go towards helping more pupils in our community. The School of Ballet helps pupils thrive on what they love to do, which is dancing in a variety of forms. I want to extend my thanks to Simon and Jane from all of us at Weymouth School of Ballet for making this happen and for showing their support.”
