Celebrating friendship, community and conversation through new Chatty Café events at The Heights and Lent Rise House care homes.
Two Buckinghamshire care homes are inviting residents to share conversation, laughter and refreshments this November, to support the national Chatty Café Scheme initiative, which helps people connect and build friendships through simple, welcoming chat.
The events taking place at The Heights in Downley, High Wycombe and Lent Rise House in Burnham hope to reduce loneliness, strengthen community ties, and create moments of warmth and belonging for residents and neighbours alike.
· Lent Rise House – “Communi-tea Chatty Café” – Friday 14 November, 11:00 am–1:00 pm
· The Heights – “Winedown Chatty Café” – Friday 21 November, 2:30 pm–4:00 pm
Each home will have a “Chatter & Natter” table and specially created “chatter cards”, conversation prompts created by the teams to make it easy for guests to start talking, share memories and enjoy one another’s company.
Residents are especially looking forward to welcoming members of the local community, as opportunities to socialise and meet new people play an important role in boosting confidence, mood and wellbeing.
“A simple chat can brighten anyone’s day,” said Louise Foyle-York, Home Manager at Lent Rise House.
“For our residents, meeting new people and being part of the wider community is so rewarding. The Chatty Café gives everyone the chance to connect and share a moment of joy,” said Junior, Activity Organiser at The Heights.
Following the recent merger between The Orders of St John Care Trust and The Fremantle Trust, both homes are proud to be part of the Buckinghamshire community. Together, they are strengthening their commitment to providing compassionate support for more communities across the UK.
Everyone is invited to attend, share a conversation and enjoy a cup of tea in a welcoming setting.
