Brunelcare, a nearly 85 year old charity supporting older people across the Southwest, has announced a significant expansion of its Community Reablement service in South Gloucestershire after successfully securing a new five-year contract. 

 

Commissioned by South Gloucestershire Council, the contract will begin in July 2026 and will cover the entire county. As part of the expansion, Brunelcare will increase its provision of care from 525 hours per week to an anticipated 1,200 hours per week. 

 

Brunelcare’s South Gloucestershire Reablement Team provides short-term care and support in people’s own homes, tailored to individual needs, to help people regain independence following a stay in hospital. Reablement services play a vital role in reducing the need for ongoing care while easing pressure on wider health, care and statutory services.

We are extremely pleased to be able to not only continue this strategic partnership but grow our existing service delivery across the county. People requiring reablement support in their own homes in South Gloucestershire will be able to experience the positive outcomes that we know we can provide.”

We will continue our approach to ensure that clients goals are met by putting them at the centre of the support which they receive and continue to support them through their reablement journey.”
