Better together – up or down!

“Do it with a great team” says Oaklea!

We have some great examples this week across the North of the varied lives those we support lead – and how teams can take many forms, shapes and approaches!

Ella refreshes the parts other players can’t reach!

You will recall we told you all about Ella from Barrow in Furness -and her love of Rugby League (reminder here

Warrington here we come!

She’s just been to the RL hotbed of Warrington with her team – ‘Able Raiders‘ (linked to Barrow Raiders).

“She was there for a competition – it was the first game of the season and a bit of a warm one for them, she thoroughly enjoyed herself and even managed to score a try.” Sue Mallinson, Furness Team Manager & budding RL correspondent for Oaklea!

Ella’s progress -she’s a real positive for the entire Oaklea team!

Sue adds “Hope you enjoy keeping up with Ella’s progress, she receives lots of support from our staff members Julie Heighton and Joanna Atkinson who both give their time to take her to weekly training sessions and also support her to these tournaments. Ella is off to Salford for the next one and again to the Magic Weekend in August. We are all very proud of what she is achieving, the enjoyment she gets from it and helping her to get fit as well, it is all really positive for her.”

Life is a rollercoaster

Meanwhile we know life has it’s ups & downs – but you really have to hand it to our Philip and support Danielle from South Lakes – what a great team/dynamic duo they make when it comes to taking the rough with the smooth -especially at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Storm approaching – Time to calm things down a bit

In the North East they take a more holistic approach! The Spennymoor, County Durham team have been reading the runes – and have cast their spell on our Mags & Kay!

“Mags loves to visit the ‘Bloom n Witches’ Cafe in Spennymoor. As well as the coffee shop they do Holistic Therapies, Crystals and various workshops. Mags is petrified of thunder and lightning! Danni and Abbie, the owners, let Mags choose her very own crystal. Danni explained what it was for and what to do with it. Mags chose a crystal for calming and hopefully this will help to reassure her in any upcoming storms!! It’s a very relaxing place and so welcoming! Have a look at their page on Facebook! We love it” Oaklea’s (spellbound) Kay Berriman
