National charity, Ambient Support, one of the top 20 generic Not-For-Profit Health & Social Care Providers in the UK, opens new supported living accommodation in Anne Close, Norwich, this week as it continues to grow its Learning Disability services.
With a focus on building life skills, the time-limited service at Anne Close will provide person-centered support for up to 4 adultswith learning disability, Autism and associated complex needs.
The new service is ideal for people who are stepping down from higher supported settings and will benefit from being given more choice, responsibility, independence and self-management of their health and wellbeing. By offering personalised one-to-one support and improving and developing daily living skills the focus is to help people move on to more independent living and lead valued and meaningful lives in the community.
Ambient have worked with their preferred housing partner Amber Housing to both purchase and refurbish the property to meet the support needs of the people who will live there. Ideally situated in the Thorpe St Andrew area of Norwich, it means that people will have excellent access to the local community and transport links on their doorstep.
Gina Benjamin, Head of Business Development at Ambient, says:
“We are delighted to work with our Housing Partners at Amber Housing and Norfolk County Council to further expand the breadth of the services we provide in and around Norwich. This gives people the chance to build on their independent living skills living in the local community of Thorpe St Andrew. We are choosing to embed assistive technology into the service which will eventually enable those living there to live more independently without the need for onsite support staff 24/7.”
Troy Henshall, Chief Executive of Amber Housing, says:
“A stable home environment is a key requirement for enabling people to develop their independent living skills and we are extremely proud that we have been able to provide the solution at Anne Close that utilises the strengths of our partnership with Ambient Support to deliver excellent outcomes. We look forward to working with Norfolk County Council on Anne Close and exploring opportunities to expand our services nationally.”
Anne Close opens 17 April 2023. Ambient Support is open for business to work with other social housing providers or indeed families looking for similar support. Contact Gina Benjamin, Head of Business Development at Gina.Benjamin@Ambient.org.uk
