Altogether Now – An Awarding Night!

The Oaklea Group Employee Awards (Oaklea Trust & Right2Work CIC) took place over the weekend in Penrith at the North Lakes Hotel and we have just received some of our snaps back form the virtual developers!

Trustees and Board members were present -some handing out awards – plus you can see on the images below some of the comments made by the judging panel as to why the awards were given…

Let the roll call begin

Stephen is a hard working member of the HR Team who has an excellent rapport with colleagues and conquers a busy workload. His efforts don’t go unnoticed and he’s always very flexible in his approach when providing advice and guidance.”

Environmental Award -Patrizia Scarpa-Davies, Appleby Hub

“She is the colleague who spent the night snowed-in with learners/customers in a church in Ambleside, covering a total of 48 hours or so, That was just one example of Rachel working overtime and putting Learners/customers first.”

Going above & beyond – Rachel Cadas (Learning2Live & Young People’s Team)

“They are always happy to rearrange plans to attend to emergencies and don’t give up on something because it doesn’t work the first time. Their projects are well put together and they work well together as a team and individually to ensure their individual strengths are best used and often go above and beyond.”

Team Award – Yealand Drive, Ulverston

Lynne spends a large majority of her free time volunteering her services via her church. She is the Carelink Co-Ordinator – a community based meals on wheels  service. Lynne and her co volunteers  provide over 60 meals a day to members of the community”

“To see someone take all these roles on, to help others on a daily basis and not seem phased is inspirational.”

Development & Achievement Award – Sally Pattison (R2W Work & Learn)

*Sally was unable to attend on the night

Sara has flown the flag for Right2Work with her work in partnership with Kendal College and Project Search. She was thrown in at the deep end when the opportunity arose and she has fully embraced it.”

Innovation & Best Practice Award – Sara Wellock (R2W Work & Learn)

“Despite ongoing health concerns and challenges as well as a challenging workload Paul continues to tackle issues head on”

Strength in Adversity – Paul Copley (Oaklea, County Durham)

A special presentation by Trustee Colin Mitchell was made to CEO Clive Wigley (and MC for the evening) – who will be retiring at the end of 2024!
