Residents and staff at The Abbeyfield Society’s houses and homes around the country were inspired to take part in the Captain Tom 100 challenge, completing various 100-themed activities in memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

The challenges included Downing House in Manchester, where residents contributed to a sheet of 100 handprints; Bradbury House in Beaconsfield, where 100 flowers were planted; and Speedwell Court in Southampton, where residents helped to cycle 100km on their Motitech bikes, decorated 100 cupcakes and hit 100 golf balls to remember Captain Tom.

Elsewhere, other residents walked and wheeled their 100 steps or laps of their gardens, made decorations, took on exercise challenges and planted seeds to ‘get to 100’.
