Avante Care & Support, a not-for profit care organisation, hosted their first Sparkle award ceremony celebrating, recognising and rewarding the excellent work that goes on across Avante. There were 16 award categories including Registered Manager, Volunteer, Home Carer and Ancillary awards. The ceremony took place at the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath with over 140 staff members, Trustees and
residents in attendance.

Stuart Cross, Managing Director, opened proceedings with a warm welcome congratulating all those who had been nominated. He also took the opportunity to thank all staff across the organisation for their hard work and dedication. Stuart then invited guest speaker Vic Rayner, Executive Director of the National Care Forum, on to the stage who spoke to the audience with a highly engaging and thought provoking talk, sharing with the audience her thoughts on the future of care, in particular around technology.
Next came the award ceremony which was compered by HR Director, Derek Lindars. The afternoon celebrated good care practice across the care homes and home care services, staff development across the organisation and those staff who go the extra mile to support their work colleagues and others.

Lyndsay Hopper, Marketing Manager, Sparkle Award Organiser, said “The Sparkle
Awards 2019 were a huge success, with over 140 people in attendance. The ceremony provided an excellent platform to recognise and thank staff and volunteers across the organisation for their dedication and hard work. Well done to all of the award winners, runners up, those shortlisted and also to those that were nominated for the Sparkle Awards 2019. I  would like to thank Vic Rayner for being our guest speaker and thank NursePlus who kindly sponsored and attended the event.”
