Eighty-four-year-old Beryl Hawkes enjoyed a cool birthday treat at the weekend, when her family sent an ice cream van to Edward Moore House Residential Care Home.
It was certainly a sweet birthday for Beryl, as her family treated staff and residents of the Trinity Road residential care home to an ice cream, to celebrate her special day.
A surprise visit from the ice cream van certainly brightened up a grey weekend and although the sun wasn’t shining outside, spirits were lifted inside, as everyone enjoyed tucking into a rather nostalgic and traditional 99. A treat which brings back plenty of summer memories for us all.
Christine Hutchinson, General Manager of Edward Moore House said: “It was very kind of Beryl’s family to think of us all on her birthday and treat us all to an ice cream.
“It’s been a difficult year for us all and the staff work so hard, in particularly challenging circumstances at the moment, so it was lovely for them to have a well deserved treat.”
